Characterized by their lightweight nature, ease of machining, corrosion resistance, and vibration-damping properties, magnesium alloys are widely used in the manufacture of casings for automobiles, motorcycles, and 3C products. China is a major global producer of magnesium and magnesium oxide.
In 2013, China abolished export tariffs on magnesium and magnesium alloys. During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, China proposed leveraging its magnesium resource advantages to advance magnesium material technology through breakthroughs and to promote the application of magnesium alloys.
